User portal change password email notification

#1

Post by hata_ph » 04 Jun 2018 11:01

I am using NAS4Free v11.1.0.4 - Atomics (revision 5579) and enable user portal for all the local users to change password. When the user change password via web portal, it require admin to apply the settings. It is possible to enable email notification to administrator when users change password?

Btw, I have already setup the email server and able to send email reports.
root: The user [xxx] has changed his password via user portal. Please go to the user administration page and apply the changes.

email notification will work when your email configuration is completed and secure:

a) mail server configured
b) mail server port configured
c) TLS enabled
d) from address configured

If authentication is required then
e) user name configured
f) password configured

my bet is that you do not have TLS enabled.

ms49434,

Ya email TLS is disabled. Do you need to enable it for email notification to work?

I am able to receive password change notification using gmail with TLS support.
It is possible to receive the notification without TLS? Cause my simple smtp server is without TLS.

yes, that's possible, just change the code.

Pls share the step or even better if there is an option to enable/disable TLS for the portal password change notification on the webUI. Thanks.
