LDAP not working .724

#1

Post by HJR » 06 Jun 2013 22:55

hello,

can someone help me out.

i came from freenas 8 to nas4free because freenas is too buggy with iscsi and i wanted to use my zfs pool which is working.

enabling ldap gives me a headache.... why is it not working?

freenas 8 worked with ldap, centos clients work but nas4free NO....

what is anonymous bind when i still need to fill in root bind dn?
is the password encryption field used for the binding or password checking?

i use ldap://hostname as uri....

seems pretty straightforward... but it is not...
can someone make a screenshot of the settings they are using with openldap 2.4 and nas4free?

Hello,
I writed a post about ldap because it doesn't work with open ldap v3 on Raspberrypi.
And now, I read your post.
I think we are egal problem.
Do you find resolution about this problem ?
I don't understand why there are no more users with ldap service who write on this forum?
Thanks from France.

hi

excuse my poor english

ldap nas4free is a client not a server so you must install openldap24-server. If you could speak french it would be easier for me to help you. I succeed with velivole18 to install openldap + samba rdp. it's work perfeckly.

The popularity of LDAP is increasing and is thus resulting in it's rapidly replacing NIS, Radius and tacacs and other authentication services. Unfortunately, as will most new technologies, many site are failing to instigate proper security measures when deploying this new technology.
