Zombie processes on Rsync between 2 N4F's

Trying to run RSYNC between 2 N4F boxes, on the client one I observe a slowly increasing number of zombie processes

The file system is ZFS (Raidz2) on the client. The observed temporary file names on the client suggest that there is duplication in copied files.
Both boxes run Version 10.3.0.3 - Pilingitam (revision 2987).
Any ideas?
