rank novice Q on new setup

#1

Post by Samuel314 »

So I've downloaded nas4free and set it up without too much fuss. The only catch is my 150gb drive is seen as an 8 meg drive from any pc on my home network. The webgui shows normal status and 149gb drive with 147gb free.

I'm running it on the livecd mode on a second PC.I have some hardware on order so I can run it embedded on a cf card. I unmounted the drive ran fsck - it fixed a pile of errors, I then reformatted and remounted still its 8.2mb. The drive came out of a running system.

A nudge in the right direction is greatly appreciated. If need be, I'll leave it till my hardware arrives and I can use a more permanent setup.

thanks...Sam

Running Nas4Free on a Celeron 900MHz with 768MB RAM on an intel 440bx chipset.
yes it streams video, iTunes and handles backups.
plan is software raid - staying away from zfs pools - not enough computer!

Okay, figured it out! My CIFS share was /mnt and not the zfspool that I had set up. D'oh! Now I have 150gb available.
told you it was a rookie error.
