Boot Error Freenas 7

#1

Post by ronmcfarlane »

Please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place. If so please let me know where/if I can get support for Freenas 7

I have been happily running freenas for several years now. Last night I was copying some files around and the system died and rebooted.

The box is a i3 processor with 4GB RAM. a 500 gb system disk with a data partition and 2 x 2TB disks in RAID

I seem to have a problem with the hard drives I think but I am not sure how to interpret the information on the screen

When booting I see FreeBSD 7.3 and the file I installed from was freenas-i386-embedded dated 6th Nov 2011 so I hope this identifies the version.

The system will no longer boot and I get a series of errors at boot up that I am trying to understand.

The system can boot to a FreeBSD menu that gives several options.

The first message I note is one saying the secondary GPT is corrupt. Using primary and that I should recover

Booting continues then I get

Trying to mount root from ufs:/dev/ad14s1a WARNING: / was not properly dismounted
/: mount pending error: blocks 48 files 2

Then warning : / DISK1 was not properly dismounted

Warning: /RAID was not properly dismounted

Starting proftpd.
Fatal : DefaultAddress: unable to resolve :freenas" on line 4 of 'var/etc/proftpd.conf

booting appears to attempt to continue - very slowly

Then I get

Fatal trap 12: Page fault while in kernal mode

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Ron
