Transmission does not seed torrents after reboot :(

#1

Post by chrisf4lc0n »

I do not know has happened, but after the last nas4free reboot Transmission did not start seeding any of the torrents I had been seeding before the reboot! I had to add them manually after the reboot...

as alexey say, define directories, and define in non volatile path eg: in your data disk in a new folder that can be named "Temp" or "Torrents"
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

please post more info, about your PC, your Nas4Free version and your transmission config, screen captures are good.

I would put my bet on the ports which are being blocked by the ISP. Try different ports and report back.

The question to start with is are you running Embedded or Full? If it's Embedded, you'll need to store your config folder on a separate mount otherwise it'll get forgotten about after a reboot.

This is the first thing to rule out - cz5had0ff, please confirm that your directories survive a reboot.

My configuration file did not survived after a restart. It was necessary to specify the folder to save. Now torrents starts immediately after restart. Thank you Parkcomm!

Hi,

Sorry to bring old thread to life again, but I am also having this issue. This has been happening to me for a few months and it was something that just happened one day. I have an embedded 11.1.0.4 - Atomics (revision 5403) installed on a usb drive. I use the internal hard drive on my laptop as storage for my torrents. As raulfg3 picture shows I have all folder options pointing to a directory on my internal hard drive which is being used for storage only, picture included. I am not sure what more I can do to remedy the situation. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

you should avoid blanks in folder names and you should check the incomplete folder name, "incompelete" sounds like a typo.

ms49434 thanks the blank spaces between the names was the cause of my problem. I just put underscores and that solved the problem for me.

Hi at all! I have the same problem :/ I wrote the directory for the configuration file, there aren't blank space but when I reboot my NAS the torrent list in trasmsission is empty! Transmission makes the settings file in the directory that I wrote but probably don't use it when I reboot! how can I solve that problem?

After many tentatives, also my transmission works after reboot! the problem was abot some permission: I created the folder bittorrent from a user (admin, wheel) and probably the user admin couldn't access to that folder or use the settings.json file. How is it possible?

Rebooting also did the trick for me.
