Moving of Transmission between two servers

#1

Post by noclaf » 07 Jun 2017 11:08

Hi
I'm currently running Transmission on UFS Raid5. As I bought Supermicro MB I'm thinking of moving the whole server to it and setting up ZFS.
However my Transmision is pretty large - ~5TB of data, >700 torrents sorted in various directories and sometimes with files being renamed and/or intentional partial downloads. Therefore I cannot move the raw data + .torrent files and just start the downloads again&manually run hash checks.
It is possible to move the Transmission as whole somehow?
I.e. I have all files in :
/mnt/R5/Directory1/...
and I'll move them to :
/zpool/Directory1/...

Thanks!

yes .
1- stopt transmission.
2 - move your data = "mv" command or copy by SMB, but in this case revise user/group and permission in destination Path.
3 - configure new paths in transmission webGUI
4 - restart transmission
12.0.0.4 (revision 6766)+OBI on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 12x3TB disk in 3 vdev in RaidZ1 = 32TB Raw size only 22TB usable
