error to access to transmission

#1

Post by tynolol »

Hello,

I have two problems with Bittorrent service :

First, When I try to change something in the bittorrent configuration I have this message :

Code: Select all

Error: The changes could not be applied (error code 1)
secondly, when i try to access to transmission web via Firefox, I have this message :

Code: Select all

404: Not Found

Couldn't find Transmission's web interface files!

Users: to tell Transmission where to look, set the TRANSMISSION_WEB_HOME environment variable to the folder where the web interface's index.html is located.

Package Builders: to set a custom default at compile time, #define PACKAGE_DATA_DIR in libtransmission/platform.c or tweak tr_getClutchDir () by hand.
But I can access thanks to transmission remote GUI software.

not enought info to know what happens.

one probably workarround:
1 - save your actual config.
2 - do a new install
3 - restore your config

If do not want to do a new reinstall, provide more info about your NAS and yours folders ( permission and owner), a screencapture of your transmission webGUI config, is usefull too.

I have had that problem twice after the power failures, I mean that problem and hell lot of others.
It seems that when the NAS does not get properly wound down it develops corrupted system files, which you cannot restore by simple chkdsk, so it's functions like webGUI get crippled and stop working :(
Instead of pondering around and trying to find a solution to the various problems I just decided to re-install the whole system, which in the end was a much quicker than trying to revive a dying OS.
Watercooling is just the beginning ;)

Managed to solve, just changed the configuration directories and returned to work in the case was created a new configuration of transmission.
Thank raulfg3.
