Problems with mod_deflate and deflate.cache-dir

#1

Post by danielwlewis »

I'm using the Lighttpd webserver and using mod_deflate to compress the webpages. (The Lighttpd docs say that mod_compress has been deprecated in favor of mod_deflate.) As you will see on the last line of my additional configuration parameters below that I put in the XigmaNAS WebGUI, I have specified a directory to be used as a cache for the compressed pages. But so far, I've seen no files created in that directory after lots of Web activity. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!
Dan

From the lighttpd documentation: "deflate.cache-dir (since 1.4.56) is the location under which to store cache of compressed files."
XigmaNAS is running lighttpd 1.4.55.

perhaps permission problem?.

do a ls -a of /Large2/Data/WebDocuments to see user and group of /Large2/Data/WebDocuments/WebCache and see if have correct values.
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)

I think the permissions, owner, etc., are probably correct (see below). Is there anything else that I should check?
