Everything Gone from Web Interface

#1

Post by tuaris » 20 Dec 2013 07:52

I added an AFP share and now all my disks, iSCSI targets, and shares are gone from every screen. I can however still access everything over the network.

NAS4Free 9.1.0.1 (revision 820) x64-embedded
IBM EXA01ZEU Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3110 @ 3.00GHz 8704MiB RAM

The entire web interface on NAS4Free seems like an "empty shell". The pages load but they have nothing filled in.

delete logs or big files not part of Nas4Free, and move logs to your data partition to avoid future problems, and revise that DO NOT share /mnt or /mnt/yourpool:

http://wiki.nas4free.org/doku.php?id=faq:0046

You can share /mnt/yourpool/Video but not /mnt/yourshare

Okay.

Is there any way to fix the web GUI without rebooting the system? I cleaned out /var but the web GUI is still broken.

Hi All,

I've recently updated from FreeNAS-0.7.2 to NAS4Free-9.2.0.1 without any major issues; I've been able
to import all the disks, the RAIDZ2 pool, etc... but I'm getting this error in the log:

Code: Select all

mountd[2064]: can't delete exports for /cf: Invalid argument
I've googled this error, and found this post of tuaris which shows a line in the log almost equal to the one I have.

As far as I know my /var directory is not full, as shown below:

Code: Select all

Filesystem Size Used Avail Capacity Mounted on

Do you know how can I address this error?

Thank you very much in advance for all your help.

The beauty and simplicity of NAS4Free really shines here. It is very easy to reinstall then restore a backed up config file.

Extra memory so I can host a couple VMs

2) Librenms on Ubuntu

I think I found the solution. I restarted lighthttp but that alone is not enough. You'll still end up with empty values and won't be able to log into the web interface afterwards.

After digging around I found /etc/rc.d/var. Which (by reading the script) reset's the /var partition. Running /etc/rc.d/var from the command line as root restored access to the web interface and everything looks normal.

Was /etc/rc.d/var sufficient in restoring the system back to normal operation? Can I make changes on the web GUI and not worry about corrupting my configuration?
