Owncloud and Encryption

#1

Post by ssj_5 » 02 Jun 2014 01:11

Anyone else running Owncloud on nas4free?

Trying to enable encyption and I get:
Missing requirements.

Please make sure that PHP 5.3.3 or newer is installed and that OpenSSL together with the PHP extension is enabled and configured properly. For now, the encryption app has been disabled.

I've spent two hours trying to research this with nothing. I appreciate at the least some links. I can do the reading, but if you're feeling generous I won't say no to some more guidance.

Thanks,

athena

Many on these forums are running these setups. You need to provide more information about your setup like the following:
- Full or embedded N4F install
- owncloud installed on webserver service or jail
- what versions of things you are running?
- any screenshot of the error?

Ok apologies about the lack of details. Here's some more info:

1. How do I now if it's full or embedded? I initially made a bootable usb which I played around with but as changes wouldn't save because it was a live version I then installed it to a secondary USB.
- The version is NAS4Free: 9.2.0.1 (revision 972) , it does say X64Embedded
Here's a pic: Image
2. Installed on the webserver service
3. owncloud error: Image

Thanks for the help.

Hi, my first guess would be that you may need to install PHP, so that your website can work "outside" the NAS4Free GUI/webserver. The public side of lighttpd should be installed with PHP. You could start by following the steps in this link viewtopic.php?f=71&t=2780 from this forum. Somewhere there you can find the stuff you need to install. Don't forget to add the php-extensions you may need for OwnCloud. If would like to run OwnCloud with MySQL/MariaDB, you also need to install them. Also provided in the link from this forum.

When all this is done, you should read about the configuration needs for activating SSL on your site. I think it needs some extra in "Auxiliary parameters". Here's just an example:

Code: Select all

$SERVER["socket"] == ":443" {
  ssl.engine = "enable"
  ssl.pemfile = "/etc/lighttpd/certs/lighttpd.pem"
}
I would run my admin gui on different port number, so your 80/443 can be used for "public".
Hope i understood the problem the right way.

EDIT(20140619)
Sorry, saw that your probably using the embedded version and think you can't install packages (pkg_add -r php5 and so on) with that. I would probably try to follow this link viewtopic.php?f=48&t=1606. There's some info about installing Owncloud on embedded. And then use my example for activating ssl.
Best J
