Activation error LCDProc

#1

Post by sebr » 18 Apr 2013 21:52

Hello
I do not speak English but I did not find any help on the French forum.
When I want to activate "LCDProc service" I have the error message 1.
And the service is not enabled.
I Nas4free install on several computers with an older version and I have the same error.
Thank you for your help.

I have exactly the same problem. A thorough web search suggests that this problem is not new. Looking at the NAS4Free bug tracker suggests the problem has been unsolved for many months. I'd like to get it working too, but I'm very new to this stuff. I'll try a differently connected display to my system and see if it is LcdProc in general, or if it is the USB2LCD specific parts causing the problem.

Regards

Peter

I managed to get my LCD2USB display to work. The error message shown (error code 1) suggests that lcdproc is unable to communicate with the LCD display (USB is bidirectional, LPT is output only). To get mine to work I had to boot the Nas4Free machine from cold with the LCD2USB display connected. Plugging in the LCD display after the machine was started produced the errors shown above. Check that your LCD2USB display
will work by using it in another machine. The information shown in the screenshots above should be correct - have a look at the lcdproc webpages too. LCD Backlight control on my system is intermittent, which suggests that there are other problems to be sorted out.

Regards

Peter
