XigmaNAS Asterisk

#1

Post by SKYNET74 » 18 Oct 2018 00:06

Hello, is it planned to integrate in XigmaNAS Asterisk and any WebGUI to configure it?

In the current configuration, XigmaNAS embedded suits almost everyone, but I would like to see such a useful thing as Asterisk integrated into NAS storage, so as not to install a separate server or virtual machine.

Did not quite understand the essence of your question.

the correct way to install Asterisk is to use jails.

I thought this was a forum section for wishes for future releases of XigmaNAS.
I would really like Asterisk to be in XigmaNAS by default, and also in XigmaNAS Embedded.

I think including an IP PBX in a NAS maybe taking it too far? Not good to put all your eggs in one basket as they say.

A "telephony service" integrated into an Embedded "Network Attacked Storage" appliance is highly unlikely to happen, at least for XigmaNAS, with the exception of a separate Extension/Plugin.

Your current alternatives are simply to use either a FreeBSD Jail(preferred) or a VM(VirtualBox), or use a XigmaNAS Full Platform and play in a new Boot Environment(Advanced).
