Hdd temperature - Adaptec raid

Hy,

i have a 24 hdd's film server, with two adaptec raid controller.
adaptec 7805 and 71605
6 arrays
4 hdd in one, raid5 array

How can i see hdds temperature, health status?

i use nas4free 10.3.0.3.2942

not sure that was possible.

controllers must be flashed on IT mode so basically works as HBA to by pass SMART commands, if you use hardware raid5 N4F do not support to show temp, you need adaptec tools to do.

someone can veryfy this?
12.0.0.4 (revision 6766)+OBI on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 12x3TB disk in 3 vdev in RaidZ1 = 32TB Raw size only 22TB usable

What kind of adaptec tools should I use?

If i sell raid cards, what kind of HBAs may I buy? Adaptec HBA 1000-16i Adapter?

any IBM 1015 or any SAS2008 compatible card.

you only need to flash in IT mode and NOT to flash the ROM ( only flash the firmware).

Just keep in mind that in order to move your data to the new configuration you will have to restore it from backup.
My Nas
  1. Case: Fractal Design Define R2
  2. M/B: Supermicro x9scl-f
  3. CPU: Intel Celeron G1620
  4. RAM: 16GB DDR3 ECC (2 x Kingston KVR1333D3E9S/8G)
  5. PSU: Chieftec 850w 80+ modular
  6. Storage: 8x2TB HDDs in a RaidZ2 array ~ 10.1 TB usable disk space
  7. O/S: XigmaNAS 11.2.0.4.6625 -amd64 embedded
  8. Extra H/W: Dell Perc H310 SAS controller, crosflashed to LSI 9211-8i IT mode, 8GB Innodisk D150SV SATADOM for O/S

Backup Nas: U-NAS NSC-400, Gigabyte MB10-DS4 (4x4TB Seagate Exos disks in RaidZ configuration - 32GB RAM)
