I have a server with an USB dock where I swap between 6 HDD. When I inserts the new HDD the index is not updated...and i am stuck with the previous index. As a newbee i is on the edge to return to f****** windows...

NAS in general do not like USB disk.

NAS are designed to use SATA disk, and LAN as permanent connection. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network-attached_storage

ExtendedGUI have an option to automount USB disk whent inset is detected.
12.0.0.4 (revision 6766)+OBI on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 12x3TB disk in 3 vdev in RaidZ1 = 32TB Raw size only 22TB usable
