Suspend mode for NAS

I just built a NAS with 4x2TB HDD using a A75m-ITX MB with a AMD A8-3870 APU on it, paired with 8 GB of DDR3 DRAM. Installation is on a CF card plugged into a card reader. I haven't installed the HDD yet. Still playing around with the settings / configs etc, before installing the HDD and committing any data to it.

I noticed that there is no option for the NAS to go into a suspend mode after a configurable minutes of inactivity. There is some knobs to go into low power mode, but not suspend.

The machine idles at around 43W with no HDDs installed. The system previously ran Ubuntu Linux. I measured about 40W idle and 4W when in suspend mode. Does NAS4Free have suspend mode?

I have seen a Wake up on LAN ping in the BIOS settings. I imaging that a NAS can go into suspend / sleep and be woken up when a access request is received via the LAN connection (which is the only connection for a NAS in headless mode. Any ideas on how to enable suspend mode?

Note: I tried FreeNAS 9.10 and did not find suspend either.
