APC UPS setup

Anyone know what the setting for a apc ups 3000rm12u are? having problems setting it up. im sure ive got the right serial cable as it came with it (used).
10.2.0.2 - Prester (revision 1814) embedded x64 no swap + extended webgui, on atom D2700MUD 1x4gb ram, 1x mini sata controllers, 4 HDD in a icydock 4bay caddy run 2x 500gb mirror and 2x1tb mirror. Using CIFS/SMB, SSH, DLNA/UPnP, dynamic DNS, Webserver (owncloud) and BitTorrent for home use.

Ups setup is mostly trial and error.

That is try a driver, if it don't work try another.

Checkout some of the other posts in the UPS section for troubleshooting Tips as well

Yeah, cheers for replying. i have tired most of the APC drivers (USB excluded as im not using USB) but cant get it working. i can only guess its the cable. I though id only ask incase someone went "ive got that APC and this is my setup"

ill try a few more settings.

May be your cable is broken? Try to connect UPS to windows machine

turns out the APC is known as a ups for dell server. from the APC website "Dell Smart-UPS 3000VA USB RM 2U 230V" cant seem to be get it working. tried del and APC drivers, new cables and reboots. i think ill wait as i know another APC will soon be coming my way!

1. Check UPS on Windows PC. If work
2. Check BIOS settings adout RS232 port - use automatic
3. Check your NAS4Free interface port. For do it, connect to NAS4Free RS232 port from windows, and use program similar Hyperterminal. On NAS4Free check System|Advanced Serial Console.
If you connect will success, so tour hardware not have problems
