The Raid has been rebuilt but I'm not able to mount.

When I try to mount I get this error:


The following input errors were detected:
Wrong partition type or partition number.
/dev/raid5/MCRaidp1: Can't get UFS ID.
dumpfs: /dev/raid5/MCRaidp1: could not find special device

I select GPT and partition 1, tried 2 as well.

Am I doing something wrong? It's been years since I've mounted the RAID5. So Maybe I m forgetting something, but quickly looking at tutorials it seems to be the right step.

If I go into Disks > Software RAID > GEOM > Management
I see MCRaid

I don't see it in
Disks > Software RAID > RAID 0/1/5 > Management
cant add it either, doesn't show up when i go add

Please, give us info from first three tabs in Diagnostics > Information

It's fine, second one is for RAID based on VINUM volume manager, and you have GEOM.

I was not able to run fsck last.
Tried within in shell and ssh as well.
Issue is it can't find superblock, tried auto search and no luck.
I'm no expert at the command though so maybe there was more to do.

I did do a bunch of reading and it seems in some cases FreeBSD just has issues reading UFS partitions.
Few people where successful plugging in drives to Windows and using UFS Explorer to get their files.
I did that last night and it found the RAID5 right away and its scanning for files.
If that works its easy enough to pull what I need.
Seems like its going to take like 40h to do that though...
I hope its not putting crazy stress on the drives.

Windows update forced my PC to reboot even though I had it disabled, even the update service was not running.
This was during the drive scan. I'm sure no harm but still.
Pisses me off how they force these updates.

Still hoping this will end in a positive way.

No luck even with UFS explorer, it was sorting through files for like 5 days.
Got a lot of stuff but notthing useful.
Sucks!!!

Did you try mounting or fsck without the 'p1' part?
