Status|Disks = Disconnects NAS

Post by Bad One »

NAS4Free (revision 847) x86-full; COMPAQ CPQ0041 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz 512MiB RAM

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone else has seen this behavior.
I created JBOD. If I go to Status|Disks, the NAS disconnects from the network GUI. I have to reboot from from the NAS keyboard. It always comes back okay though.
Everything else seems to be working fine.
That is,
I can go to Disks|Management and see the status okay.
I can go to Disks|Software RAID and see the JBOD disk okay.
I can go to Disks|Information, and Diagnostics|Disks, ATA, Partitions, Mounts, Space used, etc., etc., etc., everything, except when I go to the Status Tab, and then select Disks. None of these other info screens locks it up, only this one.
Oh, and yes the share is working fine.

Odd, that is a new error / issue.

You are running an older version of the OS. I would consider upgrading to the latest and see if this issue clears.

I had this exact problem. It turned out one of the disks had bad sectors, removing the disk solved it.

edit: actually the problem seems to occur with software raid regardless of bad disk.
