Post by sp00ky » 22 May 2013 11:29

Hi,

I have 4 encrypted hdds with various media on them.

During a heavy lightningstorm i pulled the plugg for my vmware esxi with ive got a nas4free on.
After that I havent been able to attach (decrypt) my hdds

I get several a error message:

Code: Select all

geli: Cannot access da2 (error=1).

Mounting device.
Failed.
root: mount: /dev/ufsid/5160317acf60219f: R/W mount of /mnt/MYHDD denied. Filesystem is not clean - run fsck. Forced mount will invalidate journal contents: Operation not permitted

First step is to solve fsck, to do it read wiki: http://wiki.nas4free.org/doku.php?id=faq:0001

And other post about damaged disk & fsck.

Once your disk are clean, probably you can mount and decrypt, but if damage are seriosly, you can lost data or in the worst case all data, so remember to backup allways your valuable data (RAID is not a backup system)
12.0.0.4 (revision 6766)+OBI on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 12x3TB disk in 3 vdev in RaidZ1 = 32TB Raw size only 22TB usable
