Does python require separate building?

#1

Post by erik » 30 May 2016 09:25

My compliments with the building process.
Some questions.

1: What is the preferred way to test changes to SW, in the FreebSD machine used for building or on a target? If the latter, which version should work best? (e.g. have gdb etc.)

2: When I do a build of all ports python fails and I need to build it separate.
After that I can install all the ports.
Is this what should happen?
primary NAS: 2*8Tb raidz1, backup NAS: 6*2TB raidz2, remote backup NAS: 3*2TB raidz1 : All NAS4Free 11.0

1: make a test build and run in a test vm or on real server. that way we test before commits svn.

2: That's correct, after building the ports python port needs to be compiled a second time before installing the port.
We hope to fix this in future.
