PWM control

#1

Post by Downloadski »

Hello all,

I come from a unraid server (slackware linux based) and there i use a script to monitor the hdd heat and control the PMW fans.

Is there such functionality on freebsd (search on this forum does not give me back hits, and also the freebsd forum did not return something usefull besides this: http://forums.freebsd.org/showthread.php?t=4883

On linux you do:

# Load chip drivers:
modprobe w83627ehf

You can than query the settings of the controls of that chipdriver (i guess that is it) like:
/sys/class/hwmon/hwmon1/device/pwm2 #read or set the current pwm setting
/sys/class/hwmon/hwmon1/device/fan4_input #read the speed of the fan

The script itself seems simple scripting language.

Can someone tell me if such functionality could be made working for freebsd ? With sysctl perhaps ?

I looked at the directory structure on my test server, but that has not even a sys directory. (i think i did a full install on a hdd)
