Hi Crest, thanks for all the work on NOC, just a quick question, do you plan to update the package so it can run with new releases which run PHP7.2?
I know @sein has managed to get his running with the beta version of Nextcloud, would be nice to able to one click the update!

EDIT 2018.02.08: since NextCloud 13.0.0 release is out this workaround is obsolete!
Hello BodgeIT (and all who have problems with NC on PHP 7.2),

Thank you!
About your question - since NC v13 is still in beta I can provide an easy 7-step update for N4F users which are running r5065 and below with PHP 7.2, maybe I will create later an update for the NOC extension when NC v13 release is available to automaticly decide which version to install, hereafter the steps for upgrade to NC v13-beta:
  1. Proceed to Extensions > NextOwnCloud 0.3.2 > Configuration and perform a "Backup", check Diagnostics > Log for "NextCloud backup finished with 0 error(s)"
  2. "Remove" the current installation
  3. With the N4F built-in file editor under Tools > File Editor change the file /YourNOCExtensionInstallationDirectory/owncloud/owncloud.conf and replace

    Code: Select all

    "source": "https://download.nextcloud.com/server/releases/latest.zip",
    with

    Code: Select all

    "source": "https://download.nextcloud.com/server/prereleases/nextcloud-13.0.0beta4.zip",
  4. Proceed to Extensions > NextOwnCloud 0.3.2 > Configuration and perform "Install"
  5. Proceed to NC url and finish the installation
  6. Restore Userdata -> can take a while depending on the amount of data stored, check Diagnostics > Log for "NextCloud restore userdata finished with 0 error(s)"
  7. Now you can proceed to NC url, finish the installation and login to NC v13-beta which supports PHP 7.2

Nextcloud down after NAS4FREE upgrade

#95

Post by Gleneisenbach » 29 Jan 2018 20:09

I made an upgrade of my NAS4FREE and didn't notice the PHP 7.2 upgrade is incompatible with my nextcloud.
Now my nextowncloud don't work any more.
I tried to download nextcloud 13 beta 3 but the installation failed.
see: https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/12/ad ... grade.html
But the
php occ upgrade
ends with

nas4free: nextcloud# php occ upgrade
The process control (PCNTL) extensions are required in case you want to interrupt long running commands - see http://php.net/manual/en/book.pcntl.php
Nextcloud or one of the apps require upgrade - only a limited number of commands are available
You may use your browser or the occ upgrade command to do the upgrade
Set log level to debug
Turned on maintenance mode
Exception: Updates between multiple major versions and downgrades are unsupported.
Update failed

Has someone any hints?

In the installation directory of nextcloud, just delete all except the data and config directories and then uncompress the last beta of the NextCloud V13.
Then connect to the nextcloud homepage that will launch the new installation.
I specify that this is an installation under "webserver"

The update to Nextcloud-13 beta didn't work.

Now I tried the installation via onebottoninstaller, but there are two problems:
Backup of the current installation didn't work, error:
2018/02/06 21:59:06 [8349] rsync: write failed on "/mnt/APPLICATION/.htaccess": No space left on device (28)

my backup directory is /mnt/RAID1/sicher

I saved data and nextcloud directory manual, and continued.

The new installation ignores the data directory set in N4F Gui and set it to www/owncloud/nextcloud/data
The new config.php is created by step 5 "Proceed to NC url and finish the installation". After that the data directory can be changed.

Any Ideas?

This is a bit strange because the backup procedure uses your path /mnt/RAID1/ and I suppose there is enough space there?
You could check the backup script (in /YourExtensionPath/owncloud/NextCloud-backup.sh) if it points to this path ...
The new installation ignores the data directory set in N4F Gui and set it to www/owncloud/nextcloud/data
The new config.php is created by step 5 "Proceed to NC url and finish the installation". After that the data directory can be changed.
This is ok, in step 5 you must set the data folder explicitely, refer also to the description in the first post of this thread => https://nas4free.org/forums/viewtopic.p ... 718#p73326, at the screenshot below NextCloud / ownCloud Setup you see where you have to put it ...

Hope this helps,

I haven't notices the field for the data directory in NC homepage because it was collapsed.
Now I have a nextcloud running with the data directory outside.
I created my user again manual, copied my old files to the data directory an run the nextcloud filescan.

And now... nothing inside, and there is no option to upload anything, the icons are missing!!
Neither Firefox nor IE, but the Android App works! The App on my mobile shows all my files!
ok, it is a beta version, but no files?!?
I check the console of my browser, it looks awful:

Nextcloud 13.0.0 release is out so I would recommend to remove your installation totally and reinstall NextCloud from within the NextOwnCloud extension.
NOTE: if you changed the download source previously mentioned in the workaround => https://www.nas4free.org/forums/viewtop ... =90#p83083, step 3 - revert this to the original entry 'latest.zip' before starting the installation procedure.

After the installation completely (inside NextCloud) is finished check and upload your backuped files directly inside NextCloud.
As far as I remember it was not recommended to copy the files at the OS level to NextCloud ...

Same result, nextcloud don't work.
There are no folders visible, even not the default folders photos and document. which exists in the data directory on the server.

It is normal that it does not work, the manual procedure is explained on the site of nexcloud:
Delete everything in the nextcloud directory EXCEPT the data and config directories, extract next cloud 13 from the next cloud directory and connect to nextcloud which will install with the data and the existing configuration.
I upgraded all beta by this way.

That was my first failure. The error message was: Upgrade is not supported if you skip a version.
My old version was 8.
That's why I started from scratch.

Nevertheless it must be possible to install nextcloud from scratch for any new installation.

I found a similar problem here:
https://github.com/nextcloud/server/issues/2962
There it was a server configuration problem.

Some other google hints point to access rights, but all is owned by www and the folder are there, created by nextcloud.

12.02.2018:
Two problems solved:
1. The backup of the configuration and data failed because I set the backup folder and started the process.
You have press >save< first to save the new backup folder and then start the backup
2. The files were missing in NC because the owncloud/temp folder was missing

Now the calendar in NC is missing.

You did the settings well otherwise the extension would have fired a warning, well done ;)

About the different config folders - they exist just to use either ownCloud or NextCloud (or maybe both of them which would not make much sense ;) ), divided into two sets for "historical" reasons (the extension started long ago with ownCloud and later NextCloud was added).

For the Next/ownCloud apps itself it's important to set the Document Root and the Data Folder accordingly (and of course the Backup Folder) to follow the security recommendations in th documentation.

I missed that I also got of course the "real" nextcloud folder in WWW.

I was confused since the Nextcloud V13 download is more than 50gb of size and I had only a look at the folder in "apps" that is related to OneButtonInstaller.

So, in a nutshell, I dig form this thread that after having backuped config file or better whole config folder and data folder (that is mega huge) I can follow the manual install instructions. That are to delete all except the named and to upload the corresponding files from the V13 download zip.
Then returning to the web GUI I might find the proper steps to take up my old config, DB, and data files.

Hello,
after some stupid steps ( upgrade N4F and then thebrig from WBEGUI , i broke thebrig. At his moment I have in OBI checked installed "thebrig", but it web gui thebrig menu is missed . What files I need to delete except thebrig install folder ( I remove it) to remove green checkbox from OBI for thebrig package ? My idea is to install thebrig and then NC again ?
Thank you very much

Hello,
after some stupid steps ( upgrade N4F and then thebrig from WBEGUI , i broke thebrig.

For TheBrig there is a workaround available here => https://www.nas4free.org/forums/viewtop ... 842#p82842

If this is for some reasons not working for you I will include the above mentioned repository temporarely to OBI somehow - will post an update under the OBI thread if I'm ready with it.

You could try to install NextCloud directly from OBI, it's working without problems since the most recent release of the NextCloud application support now PHP 7.2, please refer to the first post of this thread.

Hello again,
I am not sure that you understand me well. At this moment i don't have any directory where theBrig is pointed , dont't have theBrig menu in Extentions , but have theBrig installed in OBI software installation menu ( see the picture in the attachment in my first post).I don't want to replace the lang.inc to resolve php problem , but I want to fully remove theBrig ( i delete theBrig directory but in the OBI menu still exist green check for installed Brig ) . If you have script which delete everything for theBrig or give me destination to delete it manual is ok for me . And when the green checkbox is gone I will install again theBrig from OBI and then Nextcloud on new jail.
If this scenario is not possible i will install Nextcloud 13 beta with PHP 7.2 from the first post
If you want something from my existing configuration or filesystem please tell me
Thank you very much

Hi!
My asking is for experienced users of Nextcloud "application" ONLYOFFICE. It is wery usefull application making Nextcloud like Onedrive or Google disk. It allows you to open and edit any documents from your storage directly in browser... but I have just one problem: how to setup it?
ONLYOFFICE is installed inside of Nextcloud under admin's account. Then it appears in Nextcloud "Preferenses" and requests paths to <documentserver>. I tryed various combination of known addresses but nothing is valid. Supportive documentation said that <documentserver> is the same address as for Nextcloud.
My address for local connection https://192.168.1.44:22256/Nextcloud
and external path https://russianvodka.asusscomm.com:1000/Nextcloud both don't work.
I can't explain instructions about this but I'm thinking that ONLYOFFICE may create special folders for <documentserver>. Unfortunatelly I can't solve it.
Please share your ideas or directions for correct installation ONLYOFFICE if you have.

False alert :(
My question above is incorrect. I installed just "Nextcloud ONLYOFFICE integration app" that enables access to ONLYOFFICE document server from Nextcloud.
"Onlyoffice dicument server" can be installed on Linux, Docker or Windows only. It is big and serious application and cannot be installed without mumbo jumbo on XigmaNAS, INHO.

It looks like Nextcloud "data folder" is created inside of web server folder during setup in webGUI -> Extensions -> NextOwnCloud. It is not recommended by safety reasons. Data Folder has to be placed as sub-folder /mnt/. For example, dataset /mnt/Pool/NCData

Exactly :!: ;)

Please follow the installation instructions in the first post of this topic, here it is exactly described what to do to prevent these warnings (with screenshots to see, where you can set the data directory at the first call in NextCloud).
In this case I would recommend to remove NexCloud and install it again (within the NextOwnCloud extension), prior to this set your webserver service to the HTTPS protocol.

Nextcloud failed to connect Samba external storage

#119

Post by Snufkin » 21 Aug 2018 08:09

There is freshly installed XigmaNAS 11.2.0.4 - Omnius (5774) and NextOwncloud 0.3.2.1 extension.

Nextcloud app SMB connection test returns error message

Code: Select all

Error while loading share content.
Icewind\SMB\Exception\DependencyException: Can't find smbclient binary in path
...
Note in Nextcloud 13 Administration Manual
The SMB/CIFS backend requires smbclient or the PHP smbclient module to be installed on the Nextcloud server. The PHP smbclient module is preferred, but either will work. These should be included in any Linux distribution. (See PECL smbclient if your distro does not include them.)
I'm afraid we are here not using any Linux distribution especially in XigmaNAS embedded :)
But smbclient binary is definitely in place and could be run in remote console.

What's wrong with this binary?
Could it be permission issue when Nextcloud user www has no rights to execute smbclient?

Tried the app but it's not working for me too, shows only an error in the log:

Code: Select all

Error: Class 'Icewind\SMB\NativeServer' not found

did you get in touch with the app provider?
