[EXTENSION] PyTivo

#1

Post by JoseMR » 25 Apr 2019 23:40

This is the PyTivo Extension for XigmaNAS.

Brief info:
"pyTivo is both an HMO and GoBack server. Similar to TiVo Desktop, pyTivo loads many standard video compression codecs and outputs mpeg2 (or in some cases, h.264) video to the TiVo. However, pyTivo is able to load many more file types than TiVo Desktop.
pyTivo is in no way affiliated with TiVo, Inc.

This Extension has been requested by the forum member bgold.

This extension can be easily installed with the OneButtonInstaller

Manual installation:
Just Save-As This File to your desktop, then with SSH and WinSCP or FileZilla create a dedicated directory for pytivo, e.g: "/mnt/data/extensions/pytivo", then place the file there, make executable and execute like in the below example:

Code: Select all

# mkdir -p /mnt/data/extensions/pytivo
# chmod +x /mnt/data/extensions/pytivo/pytivoinit
# cd /mnt/data/extensions/pytivo/pytivoinit
# ./pytivoinit

JoseMR,

Thank you for taking the time to do this. Works great.

If anyone already is using pytivo make sure to backup your existing pytivo folder or at least the pytivo.conf. You can move this to the new install before starting the service.

If anyone needs any assistance with pytivo please feel free to reach out.

Thanks

Hi, thanks for the kind words and willing to help others PyTivo users.

Between I've updated some minor wording and tested the upgrade to 0.1.1, the upgrade process went smooth here.
