Syncthing running as root

#1

Post by paulj » 10 May 2019 20:08

I've installed Syncthing through the One Button Installer

When I access the webGUI for Syncthing I get a warning that running as a privileged user (root) is not recommended, please run under a normal user account.

How can I reconfigure Syncthing to run as a user on my Xigmanas system?

Xigmanas v11.00.4.6625 running RootOnZFS

If you use the Syncthing extension open the extension configuration page and tick the Advanced settings checkbox, the very first entry there is Username, here you can decide which user shall run Syncthing, choose your appropriate user and hit Save and Restart - should do the trick.

If you use the stock Syncthing service pls refer to -> Syncthing

Best regards
