Guys, I recently set up Syncthing from a win machine to do backups.

Since then the new build seems to restart itself quite randomly. Happened twice in the past 6-8 hours now.

Will try setting up logging to a permanent partition and see if there are any logs there

Hi,

I just performed a fresh install of this version from LiveUSB and I encounter an issue when accessing the Web UI: the authentication form is displayed but when credentials are entered, the rendering of index.php just fails and a plain text page with the following message is displayed:

Code: Select all

Fatal error: Class 'properties_zfs_dataset_enhanced' not found in /etc/inc/properties_zfs_dataset.php on line 35
I checked the contents of /etc/inc/properties_zfs_dataset.php and undestand that the PHP interpreter does not like the fact that the 'properties_zfs_dataset_enhanced' is being used before it is defined (I don't master PHP at all). As a matter of fact, moving the two last class definitions at the beginning of the file in reverse order fixes the issue (and index.php is correctly rendered).

It is however unclear to me why I am the only one to have this issue given that a lot of people seem to have performed the upgrade without hitting this.

Regards,

Guillaume.

Updated successfully from 11.0.0.4.4383 to 11.1.0.4.4528. No issues so far except that it happened again: https://nas4free.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=12647, so I was forced to do upgrade using LiveUSB.

I had the same issue as Guillaume under the same circumstances - brand new install from LiveUSB and receive exactly the same error. Following his instructions to move the last two class definitions to the beginning of the file and then reversing them fixed the problem for me as well.

That helped me too. But how can I make the changes permanent? I have to reconfigure it after every reboot. Please help! Thank you.

sorry bad news for miniDLN and inotify.

If I enable Inotify to detect new files on folders with lot of files, minidlna crash.

this happens since ver 11.1.0.4.4421 and happens the same on this release.

not sure if really the problem is the leng of file descriptor, but is tested all times in my actual collection, if I enable inotify the minidlna crash.

thanks a lot:

mine:
Audio files 0
Video files 24842
Image files 0

I still need to disable inotify to work with miniDLNA, all times that I enable it, when add video files, miniDLNA crashed and no usefull info is show in the log.

I try to investigate further, but is good to know that is not a bug.

I was forced to add this parameter in the loader so that inotify works correctly for minidlna.
I am not sure of the explanation but I think in the loader it is to start or use inotify and in minidlna it is to use the result of inotify:
IN_ACCESS
IN_MODIFY

sorry still fails.

if I push the "rescan" button with inotify is disable ( in miniDLNA WebGUI), miniDLNA works fine and all files are scaned ( no crash), once is stable, I enable inotify in loader.conf, reboot, recheck minidlna and still works, then enable inotify in miniDLNA webGUI and still works (no crash), only crash when I add 1 file to check inotify, at this point minidlna crash and that are the last lines on the debug log:
2017/09/02 11:19:20 minidlna HTTP connection from 192.168.1.71:49817
2017/09/02 11:19:20 upnphttp HTTP Connection closed unexpectedly
2017/09/02 11:19:20 upnpevents upnpevents_selectfds: file descriptor 2126 too big for select, limit is 1024
so the question is, how to solve or bypass upnpevents_selectfds limit?

Of course if I add files when inotify is disabled, MiniDLNA do NOT crash, but is not updated ( the added file is not refresh on upnp folder), so because I have 24.000 files is very annoying to push the rescan button every time i add a file ( took several minutes to finalize scanner).

I just checked your configuration, except that I activated Tivo support, I have no difference with yours.

Indeed your problem is well described as a bug but I still have trouble understanding why I am not a victim!

perhaps do you do not reach the 1024 limit ("upnpevents_selectfds: file descriptor 2126 too big for select, limit is 1024")

But FD_SETSIZE set to 8192 in loader_conf don't solve this bug.

yes , I know ( i try it too), the bug is really old and was pached and works fine until latest N4F updates (miniDLNA woks fine on 11.0 series), I only can confirm that fail on latest 4551, 4528 and 4421, but I do not test older version , so something changed between this version are the origen of the fault.
