What pages we are talking about? All pages where user can input an custom Description?
Are you sure the backup config you restored did contain those strings?
Or do you mean not everything is translated.

From what version did you upgrade?
disk / softraid / zfs import will kill some description information
please could you send us (private message/email) the original and new config.xml for analyzing?

Perhaps this happens on latest versions too, but I notice on this release that column wide that show logs are too wide, better if users can decide wide of each columns.
if not posible, Date & Time and User, must be narrow
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

in same old place:

System > Firmware Update

But , please revise your install, it's embeded or full?.

embeded can be upgradable by WebGUI,

Full Only can be upgraded booting from liveCD / LiveUSB.

PD: Actually a third option can work : ZFSonRoot , is a full install that can be upgraded by WebGUI.

Revise too: System > Advanced Setup -> Firmware Check to be sure that firmware check is enabled

you could manual add the missing descriptions into the newer config and restore that config after, or re-edit the settings.

Hello, everybody!
Update from embedded works perfectly. But Fresh install with 11.1.0.4.4952 did not work reporting Checksum file error.
Fresh install with Version 11.1.0.4.4920 worked well.

Thanks! Best Regards to developers!

Hi

This release has affected all Sonos users with a music library on n4f SMB shares. Sonos cannot currently support anything other than SMB1 / NT1.

I wonder if anyone in the development community can help us while we wait for Sonos to finally join the 21st century and put in a modern SMB solution.

Specifically, since Samba 4.5, NT1 has not been supported by default. Sonos users have needed to add an auxiliary parameter to enable it. But since this release of N4F it has stopped working altogether.

Link to the Samba patch release note is below https://www.samba.org/samba/security/CV ... 14746.html

It looks like the patch PREVENTS use of NT1.

So would it be possible to
1. Provide some guidance notes specific for Sonos users to tell them not to use any versions from 4942 on until Sonos fixes their implementation of SMB
2. In the meantime could you consider re-enabling the auxiliary parameter to turn NT1 on in later releases.

Thanks to all the development community for a great product. The best nas out there and the one I have used since it first appeared.
