Upgrade in embedded environment went fine.
But the old error is still in place.

Could it be PHP version mismatch in following files in XigmaNAS code base? Before PHP 7.3 there was no "symbol" php_pcre2_match_data_create_from_pattern in either file.

I'm not aware of a php file version mismatch at all.
the files you listed above are identical as the files used by it's php release sources.

It's good to know XigmaNAS code base is in perfect state.

Do you have any idea why the following error occurs when dynamic linker ld-elf.so.1 calls extension apcu.so?

Code: Select all

Undefined symbol "php_pcre2_match_data_create_from_pattern"
I couldn't reproduce it on a separate FLSP+Nextcloud instance.

Maybe newer releases for pcre2 and pecl-APCu are needed, but there are no newer releases made yet after the release of the php 7.4.x branch
We are using what we do have.

Lucky this is not an issue for XigmaNAS functionality and operation at all.

[Hi.

I was successfully running a 11.1.0.4 rev.5579 XigmaNAS, and I wanted to update it, at last.

I did a RootOnZFS on-Stripe installation on the SanDisk Extreme pendrive I usually use. No error was shown during the whole procedure, but at the initial boot-up after this, it is stuck at:

Code: Select all

loading required module 'icl'
/boot/kernel/iscsi.ko zie 0x197c8 at 0x2c7000
IMG_20200427_075230_2.jpg
What could it be happening?

Thanks!

Hi.

I selected Option 3. I wrote

Code: Select all

kern.vty=sc
and

Code: Select all

boot
and the whole boot process appeared in the screen.

But, I cannot recover my data

I went to Disk > Management > HDD Managment, selected "Clear configuration information before importing disk" > Import and the Disks are ok.

In ZFS Cofiguration, in Configuration, in Syncrhonize, I left the two options "Leave already configured auto snapshots" and "import disks used in configuration" selected and clicked Synchronize.

But, neither my pools nor datasets are there! Only the zroot pool of the RootOnZFS pendrive appears.

If I run zfs list, it is the same. Only the zroot pool appears.

Where is my data?

Thanks!

Hi.

Well, even enabling the checkbox "Read on-disk configuration" in ZFS > Settings > Maintenance Tool Settings, and synchronizing them, they did not appear.

I had to do it manually via the CLI:

Code: Select all

zpool import -f -a
Then, all the pools and datasets appeared in the "Detected" tab, so I synchronized them as it should be from the beginning through Disks > ZFS > Configuration > Synchronize and everything is fine again.

Bufffff 8-)

Hi you just did the magic trick and still the best approach, just executing `zpool import` will tell you avail ZFS pools to be imported, `zpool import -f -a` will import every ZFS pool regardless, and `zpool import -f -a -d /dev/gpt` will import any available pool with they given GPT labels regardless, after that you can just synchronize the WebGUI to be aware of the pools/datasets you want.

However, bear in mind that XigmaNAS RootOnZFS is best suited for HDD/SSD mirrored pairs for best redundancy, reliability and availability.

P.S. Enjoy ZFS Boot Environments.

Something is wrong with VirtualBox in this release! No Windows OS will install properly! I had to revert to my previous Xigmanas version! During the installation it will dismount the CD-ROM and then give disc error/file missing. Only the very old WinXP does install :(

Upgraded from 11.2 to 12.1 and noticed there was an account issue. A couple weeks after the upgrade when I was doing something cli I noticed LS wasn't resolving owner ID to the account name. I checked /etc/passwd and it did have my local account in it with the proper ID. I did have the webui admin account named the same as my local user I had for SMB access and figured the upgrade changed the way it saved the webui account. I didn't check passwd on 11.2 so I'm not sure if 11.2 did use passwd or some other file. Anyways I renamed the webui account name and that did fix the owner ID resolving, but any files I had written while it was messed up had the wrong owner, but I just did a recursive chown to fix that.

Not a major issue, but something you probably should note in the webui.

I'm trying to upgrade from 12.1.0.4.7091 (x64-full, EFI) and I cannot get past the following error.

Code: Select all

- - UPGRADE: System upgrade in progress, Please wait. . .
- - UPGRADE: Testing firmware file integrity. . .
- - UPGRADE: Creating and mounting new boot environment. . .
- - UPGRADE ERROR: Unable to create/mount new boot environment.
Since the required intermediate upgrade image is not available for some reason, I followed this post https://www.xigmanas.com/forums/viewtop ... 865#p90865 and ran these commands.

Code: Select all

fetch --no-verify-peer -o /etc/rc.firmware "https://sourceforge.net/p/xigmanas/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/etc/rc.firmware?format=raw"
fetch --no-verify-peer -o /usr/local/www/system_firmware.php "https://sourceforge.net/p/xigmanas/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/www/system_firmware.php?format=raw"
I full reinstall is out of the question. This is a live production system with very short maintenance windows.

Sorry too busy here ATM to test, however this may be caused since the well known and well tested beadm command was removed from XigmaNAS base and no fallback was provided, and/or the system is not aware of the new upgrade file format .TXZ which in effect should be already addressed by the previous commands you've run, but the system still lacks bectl, so the users have only two options here.

1: Just install beadm by executing "pkg install beadm" and re-try upgrade.
2: Manually install the bectl command with its C lib(s) dependencies(OS dependent) and re-try upgrade.

Note that after installing beadm command and the upgrade success, the new command for boot environments management will be bectl, so is up to the user to keep or remove the beadm command.

Is the SEARCH function been fixed? In GUI go to TOOL -> File Manager -> MNT folder. Open your database and try to search for any file and see what result you get. On my PC's and laptop, the Google Chrome browser crashes when I try to search for something... "This Page isn't working" ...

Any guidance on manually installing bectl? All of the results from the searches I've done are about using bectl, not installing it.

I was able to get passed this error and successfully upgrade to '12.1.0.4.7389' by installing beadm and created a hard link pointing /sbin/bectl to /usr/local/sbin/beadm

Code: Select all

ln /usr/local/sbin/beadm /sbin/bectl
To upgrade from '12.1.0.4.7389' to '12.1.0.4.7542', I removed the hard link

Code: Select all

unlink /sbin/bectl
and looked for beadm and bectl.
- /usr/local/sbin/beadm is still present
- /sbin/bectl is absent

The upgrade was successful.

After the upgrade, I looked for beadm and bectl again.
- /usr/local/sbin/beadm is absent
- /sbin/bectl is present

However, "pkg info beadm" says beadm is still installed. Is it safe to remove it?

Hello, many thanks for pointing out about the beadm > bectl link/alias, I forgot about that solution here.

As for pkg info beadm showing it is installed, is because of the pkg database left overs, it is indeed safely to remove it, just running `pkg delete beadm` should deal with.

Is the SEARCH function been fixed? In GUI go to TOOL -> File Manager -> MNT folder. Open your database and try to search for any file and see what result you get. On my PC's and laptop, the Google Chrome browser crashes when I try to search for something... "This Page isn't working" ...
A fix has been developed to properly display the search page and to make placeholders (? and *) in the search expression work.

I filed a bug report for HDD standby activation not working (https://sourceforge.net/p/xigmanas/bugs/419/)
Did you manage to take a look at it? It's on current release. Would really be nice to have this fixed. (or give me a hint what I am doing wrong)
