I am just start studying VLAN ;).
in Network > Interface Management > VLAN I have created:
Screenshot-2018-10-17-14-50-00.png
The ifconfig command output is:

Code: Select all

# ifconfig
re0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500
        options=8009b<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,VLAN_MTU,VLAN_HWTAGGING,VLAN_HWCSUM,LINKSTATE>
        ether bc:ae:c5:e3:49:00
        hwaddr bc:ae:c5:e3:49:00
        inet 192.168.0.5 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.0.255
        nd6 options=29<PERFORMNUD,IFDISABLED,AUTO_LINKLOCAL>
        media: Ethernet autoselect (1000baseT <full-duplex>)
        status: active
lo0: flags=8049<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 16384
        options=600003<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,RXCSUM_IPV6,TXCSUM_IPV6>
        inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128
        inet6 fe80::1%lo0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x2
        inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000
        nd6 options=21<PERFORMNUD,AUTO_LINKLOCAL>
        groups: lo
vlan0: flags=8002<BROADCAST,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500
        ether 00:00:00:00:00:00
        nd6 options=29<PERFORMNUD,IFDISABLED,AUTO_LINKLOCAL>
        vlan: 0 vlanpcp: 0 parent interface: <none>
        groups: vlan
But creating a VLAN as described in the FreeBSD Handbook I obtain:

Code: Select all

# ifconfig re0.20 create vlan 20 vlandev re0 inet 192.168.0.250/24
# ifconfig
re0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500
        options=8009b<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,VLAN_MTU,VLAN_HWTAGGING,VLAN_HWCSUM,LINKSTATE>
        ether bc:ae:c5:e3:49:00
        hwaddr bc:ae:c5:e3:49:00
        inet 192.168.0.5 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.0.255
        nd6 options=29<PERFORMNUD,IFDISABLED,AUTO_LINKLOCAL>
        media: Ethernet autoselect (1000baseT <full-duplex>)
        status: active
lo0: flags=8049<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 16384
        options=600003<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,RXCSUM_IPV6,TXCSUM_IPV6>
        inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128
        inet6 fe80::1%lo0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x2
        inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000
        nd6 options=21<PERFORMNUD,AUTO_LINKLOCAL>
        groups: lo
vlan0: flags=8002<BROADCAST,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500
        ether 00:00:00:00:00:00
        nd6 options=29<PERFORMNUD,IFDISABLED,AUTO_LINKLOCAL>
        vlan: 0 vlanpcp: 0 parent interface: <none>
        groups: vlan
re0.20: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500
        options=80003<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,LINKSTATE>
        ether bc:ae:c5:e3:49:00
        inet 192.168.0.250 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.0.255
        inet6 fe80::beae:c5ff:fee3:4900%re0.20 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x4
        nd6 options=21<PERFORMNUD,AUTO_LINKLOCAL>
        media: Ethernet autoselect (1000baseT <full-duplex>)
        status: active
        vlan: 20 vlanpcp: 0 parent interface: re0
        groups: vlan
What I am missing ?
Thanks.

1. Go to Network > Interface Management > VLAN and create a vlan record.
2. Go to Network > Interface Management and add interface, select your vlan record.
3. Go to Network > OPTn and configure your interface.

You performed step 1 so far...
