Data recovery from HDD
Hi guys,
I'm not the best with computers but i built myself a pretty new DELL from Windows to NAS4Free,
anyway, i played aa little bit with it.
I stored all my data on it, added a disk and then did something wrong, i cant acces data on both HDD anymore.
Is there a easy way to put the HDD in a USBcase and read them out on a Windows computer?
I'm desperated as i need some data from it.
Greetz, Benjamin

Re: Data recovery from HDD
best way to get your data back is: to have it backed up and just restore it from the backup.
b) which file system do you use UFS or ZFS?

a) what exactly did you do andadded a disk and then did something wrong

Re: Data recovery from HDD
So i had on my freenas built, running from a USB,
I had 2 HDD, one in the Nas, and then one with my data, i have sent all from my one disk onto the Nas, then wiped the old data disk and built it into the NAS to i would have 2 1TBdrives in the nas...
So my data is on the
I have been trying to playing with Windows CIFS shares, with Couchpotato, owncloud and plexmediaserver plugins,
I think i did something wrong when i put in the new HDD and made a new CIFS or tried to add the second disk to the existent hdd...
My data is on the CIFS share.
I also have been looking to a toturial about how to make sure to have your data save that they cant break into your nas but dont remember what i did.
I can still see the 'Benjamin' CIFS share so i'm queit sure the data is still on the disk, but as you can read i have no clue what i did
As i only installed the NAS a few months ago, i think it could only be ZFS, where can i check on this?

Re: Data recovery from HDD
Which file system do you use?
Why you just won't look at information on the internet? For example http://appleinsider.com/articles/16/12/ ... ard-drives - this the first that I found. But I think before you get your hopes up you should know that a large percentage of deleted files cannot be restored. Still, if you're in the type of dire straits, it's definitely worth trying.

Re: Data recovery from HDD
Sorry, you can only recover data from HDD through the data recovery tool. AnyRecover and EaseUS are worth considering.Benjamin7 wrote: ↑26 Oct 2016 16:50Hi guys,
