Hey guys,

nas4free (xigmanas) is great, as well as extended gui. I am a very happy user on some systems.

I would love to install extended gui on my new 11.1.0.4 - Atomics (revision 4994) machine, that i installed to be able to use extended gui - why does OBI tell me it is not possible? And how to install extended gui without OBI?

Thanks in advance,

M4cke

Hello Crest,

I hope you are well because it seems that it has been several months since you are no longer on the forum.
I understand that you also have a life next door but if you are well can you just tell us if you or someone else is working on the update for [EXTENSION] Extended GUI.
Can there be a lot of work to do?
I miss you, you are really essential.
Thank you for all that you have already done.

Regards,

xpierret

I wasn't aware of the problems util recently when I had to reconfigure and ExtendedGUI disappeared.

If we're still waiting on an update is there anuthing similar that will give details of pool and share sizes in the GUI?

Thanks!

Yes, I would also like to know if/when there might be an update to this.

Is the code for this extension available anywhere, like on Github, that someone else might be able to work on it? Does anyone know exactly what is wrong, that will not enable this to run in the current versions of Xigmanas? Some of the stuff in this extension is incredibly useful, like the immediate e-mails on Pool degradation, that does not have equivalent functionality in the normal GUI. I think that at least some of it should be migrated into the normal GUI as permanent features. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

The Extended GUI code is available on github, Extended GUI, and is developed by CrestAT.

Please check scripts /etc/capacitycheck.zfs and /etc/heallthcheck.zfs, they are part of XigmaNAS and work independent from Extended GUI. /etc/healthcheck.zfs covers email notifications on pool errors whereas /etc/capacitycheck.zfs can monitor storage usage. The only thing you need to do is to setup cron jobs which will run the above scripts.

Yes I know about those scripts, but since they only run as scheduled cron jobs, they do not provide the immediate notification. They only provide notification after they have run. Thanks for the information on where the code is. Any ideas on why it's not working in current versions?

It's a myth that Extended GUI is providing immediate notifications, it runs a script which loops every 60 seconds by default (extended-gui_system_calls.sh).
