Many thanks to XigmaNAS development team, 12.1.0.4.7287 issue (missed PHP modules) completely resolved.
Both Nexcloud 18.0.1 and 18.0.2RC2 start and run without complains.

Side note about Nextcloud 18 test results.
Nextcloud CLI tool occ (PHP script, actually) fails to complete following command

Code: Select all

php occ maintenance:repair
and outputs error message

Code: Select all

...
 - Clear frontend caches
ld-elf.so.1: /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20190902/apcu.so: Undefined symbol "php_pcre2_match_data_create_from_pattern"
Above error is specific to 7.4 PHP only (12.1.0.4.7287, 12.1.0.4.7321) and did not exist in 7.3 PHP (12.1.0.4.7091).
Before submitting a bug to Nextcloud tracker I'd like to ask developers to confirm it's not XigmaNAS issue.

I had to delay the embedded upgrade from 11.3 to 12.1 because of a known problem with certain pkg's (Jackett, Sonarr) that rely on mono. The official mono pkg is an old one (5.10) that has incompatibility issues w/ FREEBSD 12.x.

However, I discovered a simple workaround to install mono 6.8. So, I upgraded XNAS to latest version, and all runs fine.

I'm happy to report that three PC, two based on Socket 775 and one based on socket 1150, which previously failed at the boot screen when upgrading to 12, have been upgraded successfully to 12.1.0.4.7321.

Before submitting a bug to Nextcloud tracker I'd like to ask developers to confirm it's not XigmaNAS issue.
I've made a couple of tests to exclude possible bugs originated from numerous in place upgrades of both XigmaNAS and Nextcloud.
  • Fresh Embedded 7321 (PHP 7.4) and Nextcloud 18.0.2 from scratch via OneButtonInstaller
  • Fresh Full (RootOnZFS) 7321 (PHP 7.4) and Nextcloud 18.0.2 from scratch via OneButtonInstaller
Above Undefined symbol error persists in both case.

On the one hand, one could give up on it, since it does not have a noticeable effect on Nextcloud regular tasks.
But, on the other hand, this occ maintenance:repair script is a mandatory part of Nextcloud upgrade task. And, if an error occurs, the upgrade cannot be completed.

According to this issue similar error was fixed with "... clean php installation".

You can (temporarily) move the file

Code: Select all

mv -f /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20190902/apcu.so /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20190902/apcu.so.bak
...
... <do whatever needed with occ here>
...
mv -f /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20190902/apcu.so.bak /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20190902/apcu.so

What a nice dirty hack!
But it does its job, occ maintenance:repair goes to the end completely.

As a side effect, occ itself warns you every time at the startup

Code: Select all

% php occ

Well yes, that's because of /usr/local/etc/php/apcu.ini - completely harmless.
