HP micro Gen8 + SmartArray p222

#1

Post by igr4free » 16 May 2019 20:48

Hi!

I update my HP Gen8 by adding an HP P222 smartarray and 4x8TB disks. But when I start XigmaNAS the disks don't appear on system.

At startup I see that it detects the hp p222 card. And from the HP Array Configuration app, the disks are detected.

I can not find anything about how to make it work. I don't know if I miss any process before starting XigmaNAS, or do I have to do something that I have read about changing the mode of the array card to HBA? so that the management of the array is XigmaNAS and not the server ??

I would like to configure raid zfs1 from xigmanas

Thank you!

Yes, for use with ZFS you should not have any RAID configured on the controller. Should be possible with firmware 8.32 or newer without any weirdo mods required, see this

Thnxs doktornotor!

I thought that this model could not work in itmode.

I have installed an ibm serverraid m1015, and although it does recognize the 8TB sas disks, I get an error when formatting them.

CAM STATUS: scsi status error
Scsi status: reservation conflict
Error 5: unretryable error
