cant mount old drive after upgrading

#1

Post by memeboi » 12 Oct 2019 15:01

the drive from my old xigmanas server cant be mounted on my new xigmanas server. i can import the drive but when i try to mount it i get the following errors.

/dev/ada0p1: Can't get UFS ID.
dumpfs: /dev/ada0p1: No such file or directory

ive seen other threads with the same error message but the solutions in them dont work or link to pages that are no longer available.

when i made my first xigmanas which the drive came from i used the webGUI to format the drive with the file system 'UFS (GPT and Soft Updates)'. then i mounted it as
partition type: GPT partition
partition number: 1
file system: UFS

this is how i am currently trying to mount the drive.

i have confirmed that the drive still contains my data by connecting it to a windows computer and using the program UFS explorer but i cant get my files off of it because the trial version has a file size limit.

UFS explorer says the file system is 'sun UFS' and is working correctly.

the partition table clearly shows that you have a ZFS partition and not a UFS partition. A ZFS partition indicates that the partition is part of a pool which needs to be imported. Once the pool was imported successfully, it is (usually) mounted automatically.

please post the output of

Code: Select all

zpool import
1) XigmaNAS 12.0.0.4 amd64-embedded on a Dell T20 running in a VM on ESXi 6.7U2, 22GB out of 32GB ECC RAM, LSI 9300-8i IT mode in passthrough mode.
