Upgraded from 12.0.0.4.6928. Everything works fine. Thanks!
Same here, no complications!
Are either of you using Samba AD?
I have just couple SMB shares that work fine.

hi!!

Updated from 12.0.0.4 - Reticulus (revisión 6881), with just samba's error.

Code: Select all

root 2285 - - /etc/rc: WARNING: failed to start smbd
root 2283 - - /etc/rc: WARNING: failed to start nmbd
ld-elf.so.1: /usr/local/lib/samba/libreplace-samba4.so: version SAMBA_4.8.12 required by /usr/local/lib/samba/libldb.so.1 not found
/etc/rc.d/samba: WARNING: failed to start nmbd
Starting smbd.
ld-elf.so.1: /usr/local/lib/samba/libreplace-samba4.so: version SAMBA_4.8.12 required by /usr/local/lib/samba/libldb.so.1 not found
/etc/rc.d/samba: WARNING: failed to start smbd
with the doktornotor solution, everything is correct :)

Appears to be caused by https://sourceforge.net/p/xigmanas/code/7018/. The fastest "fix" seems to be

Code: Select all

mv /usr/local/lib/samba/libldb.so.1 /usr/local/lib/samba/libldb.so.1.old
/etc/rc.d/samba restart
The obsoleted files list obviously needs some additions.

I’m encountering a couple of problems since the update...

First of all, I can’t access my samba shares anymore.

Secondly, when logging in to the web interface, I receive this error;

Code: Select all

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare get_upsinfo() (previously declared in /usr/local/www/index.php:90) in /etc/inc/system.inc on line 802
When I then try to get into the web interface by trying to access /notavailable.php, I get this error;

Code: Select all

Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function calc_adddivsubmittodataframe() in /etc/inc/wui2.php:2710 Stack trace: #0 /usr/local/www/notavailable.php(72): co_DOMDocument->add_area_buttons() #1 {main} thrown in /etc/inc/wui2.php on line 2710
How do I get access to my NAS after this? Can I somehow disable ExtendedGUI (if that's the issue) through an ssh-terminal? What’s the correct way to get samba up and running again?

I’m very grateful for any and all help you can provide!

EDIT: NEVERMIND! I'M A MORON WHO FORGOT MY WEIRD UNIONFS JAIL SETUP THAT BREAKS EVERYTHING!
It's all fixed now, I just have to tinker a bit to get my OpenVPN-client set up. Any chance that OpenVPN might be included in a future release?

I use OpenVPN on a raspberry pi, it's much more comfortable than on the NAS itself. (Off-Topic nevertheless).

Thank you for the first release on FreeBSD 12.1!
Everything works for me except one thing:
I'm trying to set the sysctl vfs.zfs.arc_max in the GUI, but it doesn't work anymore.
I've tried under "Advanced" in loader.conf tab (worked in previous releases) and in sysctl.conf tab.
Anyone else experienced this?

Easy workaround: Set it in postinit-commands.
For me even easier: Add the setting when attaching the encrypted hard drives via script.

When is the next update?
When the developers think they are ready :-).
Usually releases are not following a time schedule as this is a project of volunteers....
my NAS and its development until today: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=39&sid=039fed830cf ... 4d0abe4a04

Oh no, I get that. It's just been months, was sort of asking them. Not sure if they peruse this forum or not.
