With ASRock Rack X470D4U & Ryzen 1600AF can not set Power Daemon

Post by doctor_d »

Hi all.

I set up XigmaNAS with new hardware.
XigmaNAS 12.1 runs well on the hardware.
But only Power daemon function dose not work.
If I set Power daemon on Advanced Setup, XigmaNAS will restart and start up.
After checking Power Daemon, XigmaNAS starts and arrive login, but in a few seconds XigmaNAS will restart again. (in restart loop :| )

I have solution now!

If set CPU Max Freq. and Mini Freq. and set minimum mode , Power Daemon works correctly and XigmaNAS dose not be in restart loop.
Do not leave two fields empty and do not set adaptive, high-adaptive or maximum.

Motherboard ASRock X470D4U
CPU Ryzen 1600AF

I have found the exact same problem on an HP t620 thin client.
The system runs perfectly, but when the power daemon is enabled the unit boots, runs for a minute or so, then shuts down cleanly and reboots.

My install is to the 16GB Sandisk SSD that came with the thin client. EFI boot embedded install.

Version - Ingva (revision 7509)
Compiled Sunday April 05 22:08:38 NZST 2020
Platform OS FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE-p3 #0 r359561M: Thu Apr 2 15:25:13 CEST 2020
Platform x64-embedded on AMD GX-217GA SOC with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics

Ram 7.52GiB managed, 1.25GiB used, 6.26GiB available
the only service running is a SMB share using the spare area of the SSD. Total: 12.16GB | Used: 73.59MB | Available: 11.12GB

The solution is as posted above, fill both CPU freq fields, upper and lower, and set to minimum(lowest performance)

My first post. Hopefully compliant/useful !
