manually created partitions and zpool mirror don't show up properly in N4F Disk menu

Post by hgeorges »

Hello;
I'm trying to test use N4F, and since I have not found a way to work with partitions, I've created two partitions manually with gpart, and then created a mirrored pool with them.

Going now in the pool menu, all I see is the pool name
Name Size Alloc Free Frag Capacity Dedup Health AltRoot
wkpool Unknown Unknown Unknown Unknown Unknown Unknown Unknown Unknown

There are no datasets and volumes.
In configuration this is what is displayed:
Pools (1)
Name Size Alloc Free Expandsz Frag Dedup Health Mount Point AltRoot
work 79.5G 372K (0%) 79.5G - 0% 1.00x ONLINE /work -

Virtual Devices (1)
Name Type Pool Devices
work_mirror_0 mirror work /dev/gpt/disk00, /dev/gpt/disk10

Datasets (0)
How do I marry the pool with N4F menu? Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you
hg

Do not use partition , use entire disk instead.

I f you want to do some test use VM and create VM disk, and test mirror, raidZ1, RaidZ2, etc...
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)
