Switch from full to embedded

Post by crowi »

Hi Guys,

sorry if this was possibly already asked many times, I have some quick questions:
Is it possible to switch from "Full" to "Embedded" keeping all settings and Extensions?
I have currently ZFS kerneltune, MiniDLNA and Extended GUI installed as extension.

Where is the config file stored at Embedded install?

And, if I just change the mainboard to a different typ, will it just work with "Clear config and import discs"?
Or do I have to do an fresh installation to get it running?

Thanks in advance,
Crowi

yes for ZFSkerntune values ( not extension), yes for MiniDLNA, and I do not know for Extended GUI.

but please test it, you only need to save your actual config.
2 - shutdown and detach actual full boot disk.
reboot and do a fresh embeded install on a USB key, restore your previosly saved config, and test what work and what do not work.

If do not work, you only need to re-atach full boot disk

yes for full install and ZFS ( at least for me in 2 Mainboard changes) I sucesfully use the originall ZFS pool and only need to impor pool from WebGUI, and have all services config when import config ( SAMBA Shares, Transmission config, TheBrig and jails, etc...).
12.1.0.4 - Ingva (revision 7743) on SUPERMICRO X8SIL-F 8GB of ECC RAM, 11x3TB disk in 1 vdev = Vpool = 32TB Raw size , so 29TB usable size (I Have other NAS as Backup)
