Cannot select disks

My disks are listed in the DISK-MANAGEMENT section, but I am NOT able to select them in DISK-MANAGEMENT-DISKS-ADD.
They just don't show up in the pull-down menu. Only the CD-ROM shows up.
Any ideas.
BTW: The disks are WD Green 500 GB.

disks that have been added previously and not been cleaned of their flags wont show
try partition and formatting ext3 then delete partition for a clean drive
but if you wish to save data .... import

It suddenly worked....dunno how.
Now I only need to figure out how to setup software RAID 0.
This thing could really need some wizards.

go to Disks|Software RAID|RAID0|Management and hit the '+' button
