I built a new box, first build. I setup a bootable USB( 16GB USB 3.0 Mushkin Atom) from a LIVECD.

I am getting A FATEL ERROR! The device that contains the configuration file (config.xml) could not be found. NAS4Free cannot continue booting. Picture of error here:

My parts list is here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9GTkHx

Please help me get this working. Thanks in advance.

usb 3.0 support is broken.
turn it off in the bios and plug the stick into a usb 2.0 slot.

Works. Is this planned to be fixed in an upcoming release?

USB booting is just a problem period! [IMHO]
Great when it works but a tail chasing exercise when it does not.
the bios may be able to direct the CPU to look at USB devices for bootable FAT files,
assuming the MOBO has the firmware to enable the needed usb hardware. [2 yes, 3 maybe not]
Soooo... any scheme that needs specific stuff to get the specific stuff it needs wont work.
remember the win95 days and loading mscd file to get the CD to boot?
the end result was standardized hardware that a bios could address.
meanwhile ALL my N4F boot from either PATA or SATA IDE devices,
rather than rely on unsettled areas of standardization.

it may never happen that I need to move my drives to other emergency MOBO hardware
but the more standard my boot method the more likely my quick success

meanwhile stick to 2Gb or smaller USB-2 flash with a FAT format.
