I have been running the embedded version for a while now but wanted to install other packages that require the full version.
Is it just a case of a settings back-up and full install or will there be more to it??.
My setup is N54l with 3x1tb HDD zfs , 1x 3tb. 1xSSD as cache drive, I would like to use the ssd as the OS drive for the full install, is this possible.
Many thanks

Re: Embedded to Full install
Steps to go from embeded to full:
1 - save your actual config in a safe place
2- shutdown, , retire USB, do a fresh full install on HD/SSD or wear leveling USB Key
3 - reboot, restore your previosly saved config.
Done, must work.
PD: You can use SSD as boot drive, but if your actual SSD is cache for ZFS, you lose your pool so do not use or try to detach previously to new install and check that ZFS still works. (You can use a good USB key that have wear leveling to do a Full install instead of your SSD).

Re: Embedded to Full install
if you need additional packages your first choice should be a jail.
only very specific packages require the full install.
