XigmaNAS

Hi,

I have been using nas4Free for many years with no problems with an Ubuntu box as my desktop/client PC.
I have just moved to using a Mac as my desktop.

I am sharing files using CIFS/SMB which almost works, but I have the following issues.

• When I view an image file on the NAS, the "created by" attribute is updated in the file. This does not happen when viewing images on the local Mac HD.
• When I try and delete anything from the NAS I get "The operation can’t be completed because the item “IMG_8394.JPG” is in use."

The CIFS/SMB set up is:
Authentication=Local User
Max Protocol=SMB3
Map To Guest = Never

The share setup is:
Enable Guest Access = FALSE

I have a user on the NAS with the same username as I have on the Mac, but a different password defined. However I am not asked to enter a password when I connect to the share ??

It all seems a little strange.

Any ideas ?
