Hello,
My NAS PC is:
9.1.0.1 - Sandstorm (revision 847)
x64-embedded on Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7300 @ 2.00GHz
4GB memory
GB lan
Samba settings are set to NT1 (for XP computers)
Pretty much default settings, except for AIO and sendfile enabled for testing purpose without success.
On a win xp computer with 100mbit lan:
Copying to another win xp computer: 9MB/s
Copying from the same win xp computer: 5MB/s
Copying to a win Vista computer: 9MB/s
Copying from the same win Vista computer: 5MB/s
Copying to NAS: 10MB/s
=> Copying from NAS: 1.1MB/s <=
A win 7 computer with GB lan copying to NAS: 70 MB/s
the same win 7 computer with GB lan copying from NAS: 25 MB/s
Why is that win XP computer so slow to get files from NAS (more than 4 times slower than other transfer rates) ?

Re: Yet another slow transfer speed problem with Samba
At first I thought this was not relevant since it does not seems to be a hardware problem.
I tought it was a protocol problem between win XP and N4F.
Pulling files from N4F via XP seemed difficult.
I need to fix something. I wrote before:
the same win 7 computer with GB lan copying from NAS: 25 MB/s
Not true. This test was not good. 25MB/s was with writing to an old IDE data HD in the win7 PC. Value is now 70 MB/s also.
I tried copying with two other win XP PCs and copying results from NAS with both of them is 6 to 7MB/s.
So it looks like a problem with this PC only.
I'll do a few tests and see how it goes.
Thanks.
