How to use "Anonymous" ?

At the moment I think I managed to integrate NAS4Free into my W2008 Domain.

But I am facing some strange problems because SOME Domain-clients can access the CIFS shares without any problems whiel others can NOT. Error messages in NAS4Free are not helpful, but maybe it has something to do with the domain-membership of the client machines affected.

Anyway: At the moment i think it would be helpful not to rely on the domain-membership of NAS4free. therefore i would accept if I do not need ANY credentials .

I tried to switch to "Anonymous" and SMB2 bit it seems that this combination is not accepted.

How can I solve this problem ?

I'd like to know how to get this back as well. Use it for my STBs to access media. Some can't enter credentials in to log in.

Just installed nas4free, and I have the same problem. Can't select Anonymous as the authentication method. So can't access the shares from windows without supplying a userid and password.

latest N4F version use SAMBA 4 and SMB3 this mean that no anonymous is permited ( as I read on Daoyama post: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7971&p=47594#p47594 ).

Thanks just found it. That seemed to work for me

"Define Authentication as Local and in the Advanced section field "Map to guest" as Bad user - non existing users"

I am having the same problem at the moment. It appears something may have changed in the latest release but I cannot connect the NAS to the server at the moment.

Can someone please advise exactly where in the Advanced section you mean. I cannot find the appropriate place.

Late answer but, Main menu -> Services -> CIFS/Samba

Search for "Map to guest" (is second option under "Advanced settings" header), set it to "Bad User - non existing user".
