Hi all,
I have set up a nas4free server pc with a couple of users. My goal was to make a samba server. I configured samba, and everybody can write and read from it as a guest, but as soon as somebody tries to write something to the server as a registered user, it says "permission denied". What did i do wrong? Btw sorry for my english.

Hi emiellr,
is your question still open?
I had a similar problem setting up my NAS with 4 users with common and privat folders.
Here are my mistakes:
- All users must have the same primary group, for you Riestra.
- All common folders (and files) must have read and write access for this group, Attention: If you created the folders as root, the group is admin.
You can't see the group of the folder in the NAS4free Web-GUI, but via WINSCP or Putty. In the NAS4Free Web-GUI you can see and modify the user and group rights.
- The privat folders must only have read and write access for the spcific user.
So if you created a folder or file via windows explorer as a guest user, the access rights will be "guest" as user and group and no user of a different group as "guest" can write there.
