[gelöst] Nas4Free fährt nicht mehr komplett hoch

So, hab jetzt meine neue Hardware... Lief auch alles gut. Festplatten erkannt und formatiert. Wollte noch ein wenig das BIOS optimieren und da hab ich gerade neu gestartet und jetzt fährt er nicht mehr hoch:

Fatal error...The device with the config.xml could not be found. nas4free cannot continue booting!
The operating System has halted.
Please press any key to reboot

Woran liegt das? Im BIOS habe ich eigentlich nur das Datum richtig gesetzt und die Festplatten als Boot Device deaktiviert. Hatte aber auch sicherheitshalber die Voreinstellungen wieerhergestellt aber es kommt immer der gleiche Fehler...

Großes Problem ist gerade auch: Ich hab kein CD-ROM mehr. Das einzige was ich habe ist IDE und das neue Board hat kein IDE. So dass ich auch nicht einfach mal testweise von CD booten kann...

Immer von USB (embedded), ich hab nur den USB Stick genommen und an die neue Hardware gehängt und es lief.

Ich hab gerade immer mal wieder Festplatten abgehängt und ich habe das Gefühl, dass immer wenn ich was ändere (Festplatten dranhänge etc) dass es dann einmal läuft und beim nächsten Neustart wieder crasht.
Wie dem auch sei: Der Server ist jetzt oben (werd ihn jetzt mal nicht runterfahren um das zu testen). Kann ich da jetzt irgendwas machen? Macht es Sinn mal "Reset to Factory defaults" auszuführen? Kann ich das System von hier aus auf einem anderen Stick installieren?

Ja, LiveUSB ist wie LIveCd nur eben dass Du nicht von der CD sondern von USB bootest, daher der Name

er findet dein Laufwerk ada0 nicht, also neu installieren und die config zurückspielen, oder ein 'Reset to factory defaults' und alles neu konfigurieren

Also "Restore to defaults" hat schonmal nix gebracht... Hab auch mal testweise USB 3.0 deaktiviert (stick ist eh nur 2.0 und bootet recht zügig)
Macht es da einen Unterschied ob ich das jetzt mit dem LiveUSB nochmal probiere? Gibts da irgendwo ein Tutorial...

So, LiveUSB läuft und startet auch (hab vier mal rebootet um sicher zu gehen).

wenn die LiveUSB/CD schonmal läuft zeigt es dass Du es richtig gemacht hast und es nicht an deiner Hardware sondern an der Konfiguration lag.
Factory defaults habe ich noch nie ausprobiert, da ich das Problem nicht hatte.

USB 3.0 wird von BSD (noch) nicht unterstützt, das kannst Du abgeschaltet lassen.

Hab aber definitiv zwei Sticks drin... Beide USB Ports laufen (kann davon jeweils booten).

hast Du die 32-bit oder die 64-bit LiveUSB version verwendet?
hast Du den LiveUSB stick nach der Installation entfernt und dann vom frisch installierten gebootet?
hast Du versuchsweise eine Full installation (ohne data/swap) ausprobiert?

Glaube wir haben uns missverstanden: Ich kriege nas4free NICHT installiert.

Er bootet zwar vom LiveUSB findet diesen dann aber nicht mehr. Also auch nicht als Quell-Medium für die Installation. Ich kann also auch nicht auf Festplatte installieren.
Da kommt beim Hochfahren auch wieder irgendein IO-Error beim USB wie vorher mit der alten Installation. Geht nur schnelle so dass ich das nicht erkennen kann.

Ich vermute da ist irgendein Grundsatzproblem, das nas4free mit meinen USB-Ports hat. Wenn ich live boote zeigt er die auch im Webinterface nicht als Device an.

Gibts da irgendwas, das ich im BIOS evtl umstellen kann?

Hab alles durch... Ohne Legacy fährt er garnicht hoch. Alle anderen Option unter "USB Setup" hab ich getestet. Geht auch nicht. Teste gerade eine LiveUSB Version von FreeNas.

Die Lösung des Problems habe ich nun auch gefunden.

Einfach in die /boot/loader.conf folgende Zeile eintragen:

hw.usb.xhci.xhci_port_route=-1

In den kurzen Tests die ich bis jetzt machen konnte, funktionierte alles.

Falls ja: Wie mache ich das? Wie kann ich von OSX auf den Stick zugreifen?
Wenn ich von LiveUSB starte habe ich keine Datei loader.conf unter boot.

Wie mache ich das patchen? ich bin absoluter Linux N00b. Anderes System ist auch nicht so ganz trivial. Das "andere System" ist ein Macbook und da funktioniert es irgendwie nicht von USB zu starten...
Wo finde ich den Bootloader, wenn ich von LiveUSB starte?
