Hallöchen.
Ich wärm das Thema nochmal auf.
Gerade sind die SmartLog Fehler wieder aufgetaucht. Jetzt habe ich auch direkt mal ins dmesg Log geschaut.
Kann damit jemand was anfangen? Die Mail-Adresse habe ich mal ausgeschwärzt.

Hier die Mails die dann kamen. Die Smart-Werte sehen meiner Meinung nach unauffällig aus. Nur die SmartLog-Errors geben mir halt keine Ruhe. Ist doch nicht normal sowas ;)

Ich mach das mal ganz pragmatisch:

Gib die Festplatten zurück, wenn das noch geht.

Dabei gibt es zwei Möglichkeiten:

Die Rückgabe wird akzeptiert, und du bekommst neue Ware.

Die Rückgabe wird nicht akzepiert, und du mußt mit den Platten leben, oder den Händler/Hersteller verklagen, und/oder andere Platten kaufen.

Die Chance, daß du selber am aktuellen Zustand der Platten etwas ändern kannst, sehe ich nicht. Die entsprechenden Möglichkeiten wurden ja bereits benannt (Kabel tauschen, usw.).

Aus genau diesen Gründen habe ich ein Backup meines Systems. Soetwas entspannt.

Seagate Platten sind dafür bekannt das sie gerne mal unerklärliche Fehler werfen.
Nas4Free 11.1.0.4.4517. Supermicro X10SLL-F, 16gb ECC, i3 4130, IBM M1015 with IT firmware. 4x 3tb WD Red, 4x 2TB Samsung F4, both GEOM AES 256 encrypted.

Da bekomme ich auch manchmal die timeouts.

Diese treten dann auf, wenn die SMART Werte abgefragt werden aber das System gerade anderweitig beschäftigt ist.
Ich bin dem noch nicht weiter auf den Grund gegangen, da es bei mir mit der Umstellung zurück auf Standard GUI wieder behoben war.

Danke! Die Möglichkeiten hatte ich bereits ausgetestet, ergab leider keine Besserung.

Ich habe auch ein komplettes Backup auf meinem Backup-NAS, muss daher auch nicht um meine Daten bangen. Ich versuche nur gerne alle auftretenden Fehler zu beseitigen, die tauchen ja nicht ohne Grund auf ;)

@bossmann: Interessant. Wieso machen die denn sowas? Haben die einfach schlechte Hardware oder sind vom Controller her nicht so kompatibel?

@crowi: Nope die verwende ich nicht. Wollte sie immer schonmal ausprobieren, aber noch nicht die Zeit zu gefunden.

Die Fehler tauchen auch nur bei großen Kopieraktionen auf (500GB draufschaufeln oder mehr). Das kommt ja nicht allzu häufig vor :D

Aargh, ich bin davon ausgegangen, daß die Fehler bereits im IDLE-Modus kommen.
Hätte aber am Ergebnis wohl nichts geändert.

Ohhhh... da habe ich mich wohl nicht richtig ausgedrückt. Du hast Recht, das habe ich bisher noch nicht geschrieben. Mein Fehler...
Naja, eure Einschätzung habt ihr ja abgegeben, ich bin der selben Meinung. Und da ich ein Backup habe, alles halb so schlimm.
