Hallo, 3 HDD sind Softwareraid formatiert. Gehe ich auf Festplatten Softwareraid, dann kann ich diese 3 Festplatten mit dem Pluszeichen hinzufügen. Markiere ich alle 3 ( Blau eingefärbt ) und klicke auf Raid erstellen und initialisieren ( Raid 1), kommt die Fehlermeldung: es werden mindestens 2 Platten benötigt! Was nun?

raid 1 geht nur mit 2 festplatten.
Nas4Free 11.1.0.4.4517. Supermicro X10SLL-F, 16gb ECC, i3 4130, IBM M1015 with IT firmware. 4x 3tb WD Red, 4x 2TB Samsung F4, both GEOM AES 256 encrypted.

Danke für die Antwort: das wäre dann Raid5?, damit ging es ebenfalls nicht. Ist das 2 Plattenprinzip bei Raid 1 eine Eigenschaft von NAS4free ? Bisher war ich der Meinung, daß bei 3 Platten eine gespiegelt wird, also n-1 Kapzität.Bei ZFS geht es ja auch,wenn auch mit vdevs.

nein die einschränkung auf raid1 ist eine allgemeine einschränkung von raid1.
raid5 min 3 platten davon 1 parity
raid6 min 3 platten davon 2 parity (von nas4free nicht unterstützt)
raid5 min 3 platten davon 1 parity
raid6 min 3 platten davon 2 parity (von nas4free nicht unterstützt)

Bei ZFS ist ein Mirror über 3 Platten möglich, geniales Szenario um als NAS internes Backup eine dritte Platte in den Spiegel einzubinden und nach dem Sync wieder sauber zu entfernen

das ist bekannt, eine solche Anordnung läuft bei mir schon ein Jahr
