Hallo zusammen
Ich plane, den Storage unseres Servers (derzeit On-Host RAID5 mit 5 Disks + 1 Hotspare) durch eine SAN zu ersetzen. Wichtig ist, dass die Performance mindestens so gut ist wie beim aktuellen System.
Folgende Eckdaten sind auf dem momentanen System: Xeon E5 CPU, Adaptec Controller mit 512 MB Cache, 5 x SATAIII Disks.
Das neue System - so habe ich mir gedacht - würde ich mit folgenden Komponenten ausstatten:
10 x SATA Disks in einem ZFS Pool, total ca. 7-8 TB Storage (10 x 2000 GB SATA Disks, ca. 50 % sollen davon produktiv genutzt werden können auf dem Server)
RAIDZ2
32 GB Memory
1 x 512GB SSD als Cache
1 x Xeon CPU E5, ca 2 - 2.5 GHz
2 x 10GB Ethernet Adapter, Loadbalance mit direct Link auf Windows Server, wo das Volume als iSCSI gemountet werden soll
Was haltet Ihr von der Konfiguration? Ist das von der Performance her i.O. oder seht Ihr noch Bedarf für mehr (RAM?)?
