Replacing a 512byte/Sec HDD with a 4K/Sec HDD

Hi, I am moving my nas box from Freenas to nas4free. I have 3x2T 512byte/sec HDD working well. I plan to use zfs, and will configure them into raidz1. My question is: As I create the pool without the 4K check, how do I replace dead HDD with a new 4K/sec HDD in the future, because it's hard to find a new 2T 512byte/sec HDD from the market? Or can I create the pool with 4K ckeck for the 3x2T 512byte/sec HDD, and then I can replace dead HDD with a new 4K/sec HDD in the future? Any problem if I create the pool with 4K check for 512byte/sec HDDs?
Thanks!
Chan

not possible, but you can use a 4K disk in a 512 byte Disk-pool and do not notice speed penalty ( at least not a lot of penalty) please replace it an do several test to see if really notice differencies on speed.

replace in the normal way, your 4K disk are used by your pool like a 512 Bytes Disk, this, do not suppose a great problem, only (in theory suppose a speed problem), but in my experience do not notice, so my point is:
Replace it and test if notice less speed.
PD: Read this post is really interesting:
